My Story
Katie is our sassy, spunky two-year old. Her trademark smile and
chubby cheeks make you love her at first sight. She calls herself
a "cha cha mamma" with her short pixie hair. Throughout treatment
Katie would roam the halls in her favorite Elmo slippers and nightgown
talking to EVERYONE on the way. The social butterfly loves her
nurses and doctors and will do anything to play with some band-aids
or clean medical equipment. Katie is very headstrong and can be
heard saying "I do it" throughout the day. She loves cooking with
Mommy and "Pop-Pop" and playing house with her dolls. Recently,
Katie pulled her PICC line out, much to Mommy's dismay and worry,
but to Katie's happiness as she can now got to the pool!!! Katie is
the energizer bunny and loves to run around the yard chasing
anything that moves. Although leukemia has slowed her down
a bit this year, she refuse to let it stop her. Katie is a constant
reminder of God's blessings even in times of great challenges.
