I am participating in St. Baldrick's in honor of a very special little girl, Ellie Rose Lawson, who lives in Missouri. Ellie Rose is the daughter of my wife's best friend from high school. Here is her story. Ellie Rose was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia (AML) when she was 7 months old in March of 2004. She underwent 5 rounds of chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant. Her older sister, Sylvia, (age 4 at the time) was her bone marrow donor. Ellie Rose's parents, Kelly and Rhonda, were told that back in the late 90's children were not surviving AML. Now, thanks to research the survival rate has significantly increased. Ellie Rose is now 4 1/2 years old and has been in remission for 3 1/2 years. She attends pre-school and is now the big sister to her little brother Jack. Ellie loves telling others how she has healed from cancer when she was a baby. My goal is to raise $500 and proudly make the donation in honor of Ellie Rose and her family.
Thank You--Scott
