My Story
Ben was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in October 2007, two months after his first birthday. At the time of diagnosis, he had a baseball-size tumor in his belly, but thankfully the tumor had not spread anywhere else. Ben had 6 rounds of chemotherapy, and on April 21 Dr. Aiken at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee was able to successfully remove the remainder of Ben's tumor. Follow up tests have all shown no evidence of active tumor cells anywhere in his little body!
Through all his treatments, Ben proved remarkably resilient and didn't let that rotten tumor get him down one bit! Since his surgery, he has been able to return to Little Huskies Daycare, where he has made lots of new friends and has been able to do all the things a little boy should do.
