Kohl was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma and it was all because of a football injury. Kohl took a hit from a football helmet to his right forearm. It just so happened that the helemt landed right on the tumor, which caused it to swell up. The swelling is what caused us to go to the doctor which is how he was diagnosed. He went through a bone transplant and a years worth of Chemo. He has since completed chemo and is now 6 months removed and his last set of scans a few weeks ago still show him cancer free. He loves to be active and is especially good at video games. He became good at video games as his surgeon encouraged video games to rehab his right arm. He had a terrific sense of humor throughout the entire journey. His attitude was always upbeat. We are now committed to raising awareness for all types of childhood cancers so that someday, there may be a cure.
