Kennedy was diagnosed at 13 months old (August 2004) with Stage IV Hepatoblastoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. Kennedy immediately started aggressive chemotherapy, had fifty some procedures, radiation and then in December had 80% of her liver re-sectioned. Five weeks after surgery, we were told the cancer was back. Kennedy fought hard but one complication led to another. Kennedy sadly lost her fight to this disease on May 2, 2005. We spent four straight months at Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong and we commend the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff for their wonderful care, support, and love for Kennedy throughout her illness. We would also like to thank our wonderful family and friends for your continued love, prayers and support for us throughout this most difficult journey...you give us strength each and everyday to carry on. Although Kennedy was only with us for 21 months, she was a very special little girl who touched so many people in her short life. Kennedy truly defined the meaning of courage...our little BIG HERO! We miss you Kennedy and WE'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER AND EVER!!!
