Michael was diagnosed with a malignant triton tumor at the age of eleven months, the youngest known person to be diagnosed with this type of cancer. He underwent surgery at Arkansas Childrens' Hospital in Little Rock and did very well. He grew to be a very active, healthy toddler with a beaming personality that attracted people everywhere he went.
He had a recurrence of his cancer at the age of 2 1/2 and underwent surgery again, followed by radiation treatments. He has had follow-up MRIs and biopsies for the past two years, and all has been well. Next week he will have another check-up, and we are praying for a good report. He has had thousands of prayers from across the country throughout his illness, and the prayers continue. Michael will celebrate his fifth birthday in two weeks. He is an extremely active preschooler, who likes cars, motorcycles, boats, and anything that moves fast. He continues to have a very outgoing personality and draws people to him wherever he goes. He is our gift from God!
