During the week of fourth of July Alysia (mom) started to notice Wyatt's belly be engorged. She thought it was because Wyatt was having trouble using the restroom that she started giving Wyatt veggie gummies to make sure he was getting the right nutritions he needed. On July 17th Wyatt went to New Mexico to visit family and face-timing his mom noticed his belly was even bigger than the week of the fourth of July. Mom made an appointment on July 22nd at the pediatricians office just to make sure everything is okay. July 22nd at 12 P.M. the Vaughan family and everyone around them their lives changed forever. The doctor examined him twice and even asked for another doctor to come into the room and examine him. The doctor then stated that she believed Wyatt has Cancer. We drew blood at the doctors office and at 5 P.M. the Vaughan family was instructed to go to Dallas Medical Children's Hospital and a team on oncologist doctors would be waiting for him. The ER department was very efficient in getting all the things Wyatt needed to be tested. He had his blood drawn, CT scan, x-ray, and a ultra sound to find some information about his body. It was so hard for the doctors to pin point exactly what was going on with Wyatt's body because we caught the cancer VERY early. On July 23rd Wyatt was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblasitc Leukemia (ALL). The doctors were very informative and educated us to make sure the months ahead we would be ready. On July 24th Wyatt starts his treatment plan by going on his first mission including a spinal tap, chemo in the spine, bone marrow and putting his port in. We are now on the journey to achieve remission.
