In Early September David complained of having back and chest pain for a couple of days. Then he spiked a fever which prompted us to take him to the ER and immediately they admitted us to the pediatric ward and said they found something on his X-rays and cat scans. That was the beginning of numerous blood draws, tests, biopsies and surgeries. The diagnosis was Hodgkin's Lymphoma stage 2 and in the beginning of October he had to get a chest port a catheter put in. David had to go through 12 rounds of chemo for about 6 months. The Oncology team at Tripler Army Medical Center has been amazing throughout this whole journey and has taken such great care of David. Finally on March 12, David received his last round of Chemo and got to reach the best milestone of his journey which was ringing the bell. Now he awaits surgery to get his chest port removed so he can dive fully into playing football with his team.
Thank you for supporting David and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
