Hailie is a happy 17 year old girl who enjoys anime, drawing, and interacting with others! May 24, 2020, Hailie was diagnosed with Brain Cancer at 13 years old, with a brain tumor about the size of a golf ball. Hailie was in the emergency room multiple times each year for nausea/vomiting and excruciating pressurized headaches not knowing there was something in my brain that was causing it.
Before being diagnosed, we had what felt like a never ending battle with the emergency room. We went to the emergency room four separate times and went to a neurotologist, a specialist of the brain. The emergency room kept denying her a cat scan, gave her medication that she did not need, and didn’t believe her pain. After our fourth visit to the emergency room her father demanded a cat scan and there it was, a tumor a little bigger than a golf ball in her brain. All our current doctors and nurses fled in embarrassment and got a completely new team of doctors and nurses.
Shortly after she had a successful surgery, removing the whole tumor in one piece. After 3 months of radiation and 2 years of chemo to ensure the cancer cells stayed away, she was in remission and now officially cancer-free.
