On October 19th, 2023, Ryder's family received the news that he has a rare form of childhood brain cancer, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). They were told that the tumor on his brain stem is inoperable and that his time with them is limited.
Ryder is a gift to all those around him. He has always been filled with nothing but love and positivity. His parents have said from day one, "this kid just loves being alive".
The road ahead of Ryder is unknown, but throughout his journey he has been surrounded by the love of his family, friends, and community. Whenever anyone tells Ryder "I love you", his immediate response is "I love you more".
