My Story

Jonah was an active 2nd grader at Red Hawk Elementary School when some chronic stomach issues and a trip to his pediatrician changed his and his family's life as we knew it. His pediatrician told us something was seriously wrong and that we needed to head to the ER at CHCO immediately.  Within a few hours, we had our diagnosis, T cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We were told that Jonah was critically ill due to his extremely high WBC count and we were admitted to the Pediatric ICU. Jonah underwent surgery to place his port and began his first chemotherapy the following day. Jonah spent 10 months in frontline treatment before starting Long Term Maintenance in January of 2024. Jonah has 2.5 years left of treatment with an end-of-treatment day of August 11 2026. Jonah has an 11-year-old brother and a 14-year-old sister.  This battle has affected not only Jonah, but his entire family and has been extremely socially, mentally, physically, and financially painful for us all. No child should have to fight cancer, and we must find a cure so that others do not have to go through what Jonah and so many other children have had to.   Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
