Nevaeh was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on February 2, 2022 at just 12months old. I was told Nevaeh would not make it past the weekend, blast cells were at 96% & her wbc being over 60,000. My babies face was becoming deformed with chloromas. I was told her prognosis was “very low”. She has endured intensive chemotherapy, lengthy hospital stays, separation from her sister, isolation, blood and platelets transfusions, neutropenia, bone marrow aspirations and lumbar punctures, tachypnea, she even overcame sepsis and coding . After 6 months of gruesome treatment Nevaeh rang the end of treatment bell on August 15, 2022 signifying she had completed treatment and was in remission. Although till this day Nevaeh remains cancer free she suffers from many side effects from the harsh treatments and sees different specialists (Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Pulmonary, Auditory and Neuro-Physical Therapy). Her relentless growth and progress is remarkable. She loves to play outside, loves doing arts and crafts and has recently joined Karate. Nevaeh is the embodiment of Hope, Strength & Courageous. Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
