My Story

Nathan was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in January of 2023. A trip to the ER for pain in his leg, and a few other things that we wrote off as just being a little run down, turned in to "you have cancer" and a 12 day stay. Nathan began his chemotherapy regimen a few days later. He have had many ups and downs and bumps and bruises a long the way.  While the chemotherapy was able to bring the amount of Leukemia in his body down, it was not able completely rid his body of it. We were faced with switching to plan b and began the process of CAR-T cell therapy in May and he got his infusion in June. Since then, Nathan has had his first clear bone marrow biopsy and is in remission! Nathan has been blessed on this difficult journey to get to be with the most wonderful and caring doctors, nurses, and staff at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and we will be forever grateful for all they have done for us. Nathan has recently gotten his driver's license and has been able to go back to school full time and in person. We are hoping to focus more efforts on fundraising and bringing awareness to pediatric cancers and paying forward all of the generosity that was shown to him over these last 8 months.  Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
