My Story
Shelby was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Hystiocytosis in 2020 right when Covid hit the world hard. She was seven years old and dealing with all the changes due to the pandemic on top of her diagnosis was such a challenge. She had a tumor removed from her left eyelid and it pleated as it healed. She then had to have another surgery to remove her eyelid and replace it with a skin graft behind her ear. Along with 2 surgeries to place and remove her port itself to access her for chemo and blood draws. There is so much more to her story but what you should know is that pediatric cancer is crippling to families and to find a cure would be absolutely life changing for so many.Thank you so much for your support and I’m happy to report after about 18 months of chemo Shelby is cancer free. She will have close medical supervision for the rest of her life as this diagnosis puts her at high risk for future problems, we still thank god every day for our sweet girl!
