My Story

Kennedy is a amazing child. She has been fighting cancer for almost ten years. At age three she was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma and relapsed after treatment including chemo, radiation, surgeries, and a bone marrow transplant. At this time doctors told us that we only had a couple months left with her. She survived neuroblastoma! For six years Kennedy was in remission. Then in March 2006 at age 11 Kennedy was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. She again started chemo in Rochester. The treatments were quickly destroying her body. In August 2006 Kennedy was in heart failure along with kidney failure and many other problems. Kennedy was forced to quit chemo not even getting half way through the treatment plan. We came home to Beulah not knowing what our future would bring. Kennedy has taught us to live life every moment. Kennedy is back to a straight A student who loves school. Her passion is animals and fighting cancer. Last summer her friends and her raised over ten thousand dollars for The American Cancer Society. Kennedy has never asked why her. The days she was so sick and could not get out of bed she never complained. I am so proud to be her parent. She is my hero. Kennedy's cancer is gone and we continue our 3-4 month checkups in Rochester and know how very blessed we are for each day we are given. I am employed for Basin Electric at Dakota Gasification in Beulah and proud that they are fighting childhood cancer.
