Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Kolby was a happy and healthy 11 year old. He started to complain of pain in his leg in March 2022 which we thought was just a kid injury. We started to doctor and was told the same thing. Every week it got worse with more sleepless nights and more pain. On April 29, 2020 an xray was done and a mass was found. The journey begin with multiple weekly and sonetimes daily appointments. He was non weight bearing which he couldn't bear weight anyways without screaming. Two days later we were at Mayo in Rochester, MN for multiple tests. May 8, 2020 we got the official diagnosis and a week later we had a port placed and inpatient chemo started. July 29, 2020 we had rotationplasty surgery to remove the tumor but still allow Kolby is be able to function as a kid. This involved cutting out the tumor area including the knee and putting his ankle backwards to be his new knee. More chemo afterwards which finished December 24, 2020. Kolby got his first prothestic February 2021. His motto during this ordeal was to make everyone else around him smile even if he wasn't able to. He didn't have a choice but to be #kolbystrong. He is now continuing to inspire as many people, both young and old, as he can.
