My Story

Tenzin is now almost 10 years old!!! His double birthday is approaching.

Tenzin has continued with treatment. The last year has been tough but there has been progress. Tenzin's treatment is done mostly outpatient at the cancer clinic, but he has endured a number of hospital stays due to complications. Luckily, we have been on a stretch of being home since January 2024.

Tenzin is currently being schooled at home. He did begin a combination of in school and in home schooling in September but due to a number of reasons he moved to only home instruction.

He now has a Gtube rather than the NG which is far more comfortable for him. Tenzin still loves Minecraft, Turtles and The Flash. Tenzin's end of treatment date is projected for October 2024 barring no changes. Although treatment will end; the lasting side effects will need to be addressed. Tenzin struggles with his body image, frustration, attention, processing and just overall comfort. He is looking forward to being off all of the medications.

Tenzin just turned 8 years old at diagnosis. He was a healthy active karate loving boy. His journey has been tough. Upon diagnosis he was admitted to the PICU and endured a 19-day hospital stay. He missed the end of his second-grade year. Tenzin is currently in consolidation and receiving chemotherapy. He is outpatient and goes for treatment 3-5 x week. He is schooled at home. Tenzin was admitted for all of august due to pneumonia. We are hoping to keep him home for the duration of his treatment. Tenzin currently also goes for PT, OT and ST feeding services. He has a NG tube for medication and nutrition. Even with all of this he is still a fun loving active little boy.
