On July 18th, 2012 I went to the emergency room due to being extremely sick. I had been having really bad head pains and headaches that would last days at a time. I told the emergency room doctor, Dr. Mandy, about these pains and she ordered me a CT scan. She came back with the results and said there was a mass that could possibly be fluid on the back part of my skull. They then sent me to Kosair Children's Hospital. I had emergency surgery on July 19th, 2012. My neurosurgeon, Dr. Gump, removed what ended up being a malignant tumor that was on the back part of my brain and was wrapped around the top part of my spinal cord. I was in the hospital for 8 days. All of my doctors and nurses say I am a miracle case. I had no complications whatsoever. I went home and a couple weeks later started radiation therapy. I had 30 treatments of radiation. For the next year, I had a MRI checkup every three months. After that year was up, I've been going every six months and that will continue for a few more years. I've been in remission for two and a half years now!
