My Story

As Krista grew up, she loved dancing, swimming, soccer, and just having fun. But, far too often, life changes quickly and in ways, we wish it would not. This happened to us as Krista was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a cancerous brain tumor, in November 2003. She endured brain surgery, 6 weeks of radiation treatments, and countless chemo treatments for 12 months. She amazed us all, staying positive and happy through all of this. Krista went into remission after 1 year in November of 2004 and was recovering well, enjoying getting her life back as we were enjoying her too. It was 18 months later, in May 2006, that cancer came back. The doctors said she had just a few months left but she fought hard, never letting it take her spirit or destroy her fun-loving, positive attitude. She lived 14 months after that relapse, enduring much pain but not letting it get her down. She taught us more about love, life, and courage than we can ever explain. We love her, miss her, and thank the Lord Jesus for her every day. Here is a song written about you for us. It is amazing. https://www.stbaldricks.org/teams/mypage/108790/2016 We love you, Krista. Thanks for making us the luckiest parents in the world.
