Jake was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on January 22, 2021. This diagnosis was followed by days of a fever that would not break. After a respiratory panel was complete and all results were negative, Jake's pediatrician ordered blood work. Since the blood was being cultured, the results took 2 days to be finalized. When we received the call about Jake's results we were told we needed to go straight to Children's Hospital for further testing, in fear that Jake had Leukemia. Our hearts were shattered.
Jake is a fighter. He has proven just how tough he is and we couldn't be more proud of him. Jake continues to undergo treatment so that sometime in the future we can celebrate his full recovery and his remission status.
