Jackson was diagnosed with a Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney when he was 15 months old. Between surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, his body took a beating. Fast forward 18 years and Jackson is cancer-free. He is incredibly lucky! Unfortunately, treatment came at a cost and he now faces long-term issues. Chemotherapy damaged his heart, lone kidney, and adult teeth. Radiation and surgery caused significant scar tissue that impacts his intestines and spine. Despite it all, Jackson is a kind, joy-filled 19-year-old who loves ultimate Frisbee, basketball, sports statistics, learning about animals, and spending time with friends.
