My Story
Emerald was 9 when she was diagnosed with a tumor that started in her spinal cord. She was an incredible little girl, who loved life and people. She loved Bratz dolls and beanie babies. She loved being home and was always looking for a bright spot in life. She said that being home from school "was a dream come true". She had 2 surgeries to try to remove her tumor. She had radiation to shrink what was left. She had chemotherapy that didn't seem to work at all. In February 2005 we learned that her tumor had grown back and into her brain.
She wanted me (her mom) to be happy if she died. She wanted me to take care of her siblings.
In March 2005, Emerald became an angel. She is very much missed and still very much loved. Every day we live to honor Emerald's life. After all she lives on through us.
