Cole is a bright, talkative and curious little boy who hasn't let cancer stop him at all. His favorite thing to do is ask questions, and he asks those all the time! He loves to go fast and is always interested in racing. What 4 year old boy doesn't like to race? Well, Cole is racing to his cure and is gonna get there fast!
Cole was admitted to the hospital on November 12, 2007 and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on November 14, 2007. He subsequently contracted a secondary fungal infection in his heart, lungs, spinal column and brain. He was in and out of the hospital (mostly in) for the first two months of his treatment, including during Christmas of 2007.
The first year and a half of treatment were rough, with Cole experiencing many unusual side effects but things have since become better. Cole will be in treatment for ALL until January 17, 2011 and will continue to receive anti-fungal treatments for an additional three months.
