On January 29th 2015, our world was rocked when our seemingly healthy, 15 year old son Cameron was suddenly diagnosed with AML Leukemia. Cameron endured 3 rounds of intensive chemo therapy to prepare him to receive a lifesaving bone marrow transplant. All with the hope that someday he would be once again healthy and able to return to school. He wanted nothing more than to be a normal teenage kid and to live the life he deserved and so badly wanted. In June 2015, Cameron underwent a bone marrow transplant with a bone marrow donation from his oldest brother Brandon who was a perfect match. We were filled with hope and optimism when the transplant and Cameron’s recovery went exceptionally well…only to have our world subsequently shattered when the Leukemia came back with a vengeance a month later. The diagnosis was the worst case scenario. Our hearts were crushed beyond all belief that we were going to lose our youngest son.On September 2nd, 2015 after spending the month of August at home with his family, friends and his dog Buster, Cameron lost his hard fought battle with Leukemia. We had 15 fun filled, incredible years together, we laughed, smiled, hugged and loved our way through so many great times that we will always have in our hearts and memories. Cameron and all kids like him should not have to worry about cancer and fighting for their lives. They should be worried about school, having fun, and what they want to be when they grow up.
