My Story
Thank you for supporting us and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
Caleb's life journey was always one of resilience and perseverance. He walked a unique path. However, it was our cancer diagnosis which developed in him a strength and faith which took him through his hardest trials.
On August 28th of 2016, a Saturday afternoon, we heard the word "oncology" and it rocked our world. He went from a strong, healthy young man to an isolating inpatient experience as he endured treatment which intensified from our local research hospital to a Center of Excellence for cancer treatment in Philly. We were grateful beyond words for the research dollars behind our doctors. On our first day of treatment, we were actually handed a research binder from St. Baldricks which outlined our treatment protocol for ALL. The Children's Oncology Group which develops those protocols for all different types of cancer is largely funded through this and other cancer organizations. It certainly felt good to see those funding dollars in action for our son and the many friends we made along the way in those cancer wards.
While Caleb never lived to participate in the CAR T cell therapy treatments, it is cutting edge research like that which is the difference between remission and "angel" status. Our children deserve the very best of care and we will devote our lives and energy to seeing an end to pediatric cancers.
The monies donated honor our son, Caleb John, and others like him who are in the fight for survival against the monster known as cancer. Thank you for your donation, no matter the size.
