My Story

Braelyn was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL in August 2023 at 9 months old. She has to go through years of treatments to make sure the Leukemia is gone and doesn’t come back. Braelyn’s treatment involves getting toxic chemotherapy to wipe everything in her little body out. It makes me sick knowing how toxic these drugs are but yet she needs them to save her life. Leukemia is a blood cancer so if there is just one cell left over , it can come back. Our lives turned upside down in the matter of seconds. We are now a cancer family. We are now so familiar with chemo, side effects, medications, labs, sedations, spinal taps , the peds oncology floor, the cancer center, the list goes on. The hardest part of this, is that as a mother I can’t take this way from her. I can never understand how she feels or what she feels. Everyday I ask myself “why her”. I don’t understand why this happened to our little girl. Why do children get cancer? Braelyns ability to be so happy, loving, strong is so incredibly inspiring. She is such a Warrior. Thank you for your support. There’s so many other children like Braelyn , fighting this horrible disease.
