Alex was an amazing 6 1/2 year old boy who's world was changed in the Fall of 2009. After just 2 months of Kindergarten, Alex was diagnosed with Stage IV Wilms Tumor. Right away he started chemotherapy treatment including 15 days of radiation treatments and over the course of 6 months he had several surgeries. While he finished out Kindergarten last year in a homebound program, Alex was able to start 1rst grade this year right beside all his friends at a new school.
We participated in the St. Baldrick's event to aid in the effort to raise money for Childhood Cancer research. Being bald is something that even the youngest of children quickly become self conscious about. Help us show our children what we always preach - that being "different" is nothing to be ashamed of and its what makes us all unique.
