My Story

When we found out about Aiden having ALL, our family was shocked and scared. Aiden started CHEMO Feb. 24th 2007 At the beginning of treatment Aiden didn't understand what was going on and his favorite word was "NO" It's really sad that now at 3 years old he can tell you if his Numbers are high enough for him to be able to leave the house. Aiden is a child with a beautiful spirit for life. He loves bowling and Golf. You will see him on TV one day playing golf, at age two he already had a perfect swing. His favorite place to go is BASS PRO SHOP! He loves getting "hole in ones" while playing miniature golf. Aiden had a Tom and Jerry 4th birthday party June 2008. In so many ways he was a typical 4 year old but cancer treatments had made him grow up in other ways. How many 4 year olds can swallow 15 pills in the morning and not fuss about it. At one point, Aiden had to be held down to access his port in his chest for chemo - then with time, he would break out in song (Put a girl in it or you ain't got nothing). He makes the nurses laugh with his good humor. He did get his Dad's sense of humor. This is the life he knows, staying home alot because of his immune system, taking numerous pills morning and night. Going to the clinic for finger pokes and chemo, getting put to sleep for his spinal chemo and the steroids. Aiden had a great 2009 birthday, but his 6th birthday will be one that will never be forgotten; On June 2nd 2010, Aiden took his last chemo treatment. A huge party was thrown in his honor at the end of June of 2010 in celebration of life and the battle that he had just won. Now, Aiden is now a kindergarten student at Silver Creek Primary School. He loves being able to ride the bus and play with all the other children. December 2010, Aiden was diagnosed with Primary Ciliary Dyskensia. With this new dignoses, although it's not cancer, Aiden will now have a great relationship with his pulminologist. He will also be tested monthly to make sure that ALL remains in remission. Aiden relapsed July 12, 2012 and is undergoing an additional 2 1/2 years of chemotherapy. Follow Aiden's story at: http://www.Caringbridge.org/visit/Aidenjohnson We would like to give God the praise for helping Aiden throughout his journey thus far. Keeping the faith is important! We would like to share Aiden's mom's favorite verse with you. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
