My Story

Joey was a regular 10 year old kid…going to school, doing homework, being reminded to do his chores and playing sports.  His first love is hockey and the NY Rangers, but he also likes to play lacrosse, video games, go to the beach, and he enjoys drawing.  He likes to hang out with his friends and laugh.  He had the extraordinary happen to him in February of 2015 when he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  That's when Joey became not just your 'average kid'.  With the support of his family, friends and the entire community, Joey prepared to fight cancer head on.  He showed such courage and determination during his treatments; he's shown so many people around him how to keep your head up and never lose site of your goal. After six grueling rounds of aggressive chemotherapy over the course of six months, with much of the time spent in-patient at Yale-New Haven Hospital, we were blessed with the amazing news that he is CANCER FREE!!! Thank you for supporting Joey and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
