Hannah is your typical sassy, sweet, loving kid. She loves school, reading, figure skating, pigs, her family and most of all the Lord!

We were in the beginning of a global pandemic. The stress of working from home and managing virtual school for our 7 and 10 year old girls was setting in. Within a one week period our 7 year old, Hannah had a minor headache, was fatigued, and had night sweats. None of her symptoms lasted more than a day. Tuesday morning, May 5th she woke up, her eyes were puffy and lymph nodes were enlarged. She didn't look healthy. I called our Pediatrician right away. After examining Hannah, she found that her lymph nodes and spleen were enlarged. Dr. Berry ordered a chest x-ray, ultrasound on her tummy as well as CBC blood testing. The x-ray and ultrasound were done the same day but we couldn't get the blood work done until the next morning. 

I woke up on Wednesday, May 6th with sever unexpected anxiety. Hannah and I went to Children's Health in Plano were she had her blood test. Within an hour I got a phone call and was told our daughter had cancer and that Children's Health in Dallas was expecting us. I rushed through the house, packing as many things I thought we may need. I stood at the front door, holding my 10 year old London's hand feeling terrified for what we were going to experience as soon as we left our house. Before walking out the door, I had an overwhelming feeling I've never felt before. It was the Holy Spirit that gave me peace, comfort, strength and reassurance that we as a family were going to be ok no matter what we were about to face and I immediately gave my worries to HIM. 

Hannah was officially diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on Thursday May 7th, 2020 and so our journey began.  

We were immediately overwhelmed with disbelief, fear and the fate of our little Hannah Bear. I cried a lot the first 3 days, until Hannah told me, "Mommy, it worries me when I see you cry." That little girl had enough to worry about, so I dried my tears and went straight into survival mode.
