My Story

Hayley was first diagnosed with PSC-Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis.  That is an autoimmune disease that attacks bile ducts in the liver.  This caused her to have liver cirrhosis and she needed a transplant.  She also has ulcerative colitis which was found upon her PSC diagnosis.  They are 2 autoimmune diseases that often come together.  After her transplant, because of the anti-rejection medication she had to take to protect her new liver, she developed a rare type of cancer, a lymphoma called Post Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder or PTLD.  After 5 rounds of chemo, she is considered to be in remission, but is unfortunately still suffering from some of its lasting effects.  She is a true warrior!!
