My Story

After exhibiting abnormal physical issues over Labor Day weekend in 2023, Avery was brought to the ER on September 5th where it was discovered that she had a brain tumor. During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Avery was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma. She had a 6-hour brain surgery the next day to remove the tumor. Over the next 9 months Avery went through 6 rounds of intense chemotherapy treatment. She finished treatment at the end of April 2024. In May of 2024 she had MRIs of her brain and spine, as well as a lumbar puncture to test her cerebrospinal fluid. Both MRIs and her cerebrospinal test came back clear and she was considered to be in remission. She was able to ring the bell at the end of the month! Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
