My Story
Owen is healthy and enjoying life as he should be! He celebrated 10 years off treatment on 5/11/2018.
Owen was diagnosed with a mixed lineage of AML and ALL leukemia in August 2003 with a poor prognosis. He underwent a bone marrow transplant from his 15 month old brother in November of 2003 and was in Remission for 22 months before having a testicular relapse of just the ALL leukemia. He then started the 2-3 year protocol for this. His second battle was much harder on him as he was older and understood so much more, as well as his body not tolerating the chemo treatments after such an intense treatment the first time to prepare him for the transplant.
We want to say thank you to everyone who supports St. Baldricks, this awesome event is helping to find new treatments and striving for the Cure to childhood cancer.
As too many parents can tell you ... the words "Your child has cancer" are words you never want to hear.
Thank you!!! The cure to cancer will be found.
