For Macen...and hundreds like him who battle osteosarcoma

We helped to raise money for childhood cancer research at: If Not Now, When? Cocktail Party

Each year kids are given treatments developed in the 1960's and 70's for other cancers. We can make a difference by directly funding promising research, one lab at a time.

That is why we are so excited to join the Fight Osteosarcoma Together (FOT) Super Grant in funding the work of Dr. Patrick Grohar at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with the goal of taking a new targeted treatment to Phase 1 Trials in three years. Using the medical review board infrastructure at St. Baldrick's, FOT reviewed over 100 applications, and Dr. Grohar's work is the third to be funded by FOT and its affiliated foundations. Learn more about the team's work here.

Many of you knew Macen. Smart, witty, giving. This will be the seventh year since Macen passed away from complications of this disease on September 27. He did everything he could to try to have his tumor inform the science that would help other kids.

Will you join us? Shawna and I have pledged $100,000 from Macen's fund to this important work. Our goal is to match as much of that as possible through family and friend donations. Any amount helps, and only St. Baldrick's will see the amount you give.
