Ride 4 David

We helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: David's Warriors at The BIG SHAVE at Allan P. Kirby Athletic Center

Art Charlton decided in May 2010 to ride in the NYC 5 Boro Bike Ride. Art was part of the team that led David's Cub Scout's and was inspired by his fight with cancer. That first year, Art wore a custom made shirt by David with his green wristband reminding him to Embrace Life! Others joined the insanity of this ride and I joined them in 2012. We are back for 2014! Origami chopsticks taped to our helmets, this year our epic team is the fearless leader: David Van Horn, the inspiration- Art Charlton, my gal pal who has shaved TWICE for Dman- Elaine Reynolds, and me... The momma who seems to not understand physical limitations! Our crew isn't the fastest but we enjoy the view, the friendship and sense of accomplishment. This year as we continue to DO IT FOR DAVID, please consider a pledge of $14. David's 14th birthday would have been May 2nd. Although he was stolen from Earth he continues to inspire us to reach higher and enjoy the ride! Read below to see why we are raising money... Did you know that 175,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year? And in the U. S., one in five will not survive. I want to change that, so I'm raising money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids.
