Many of you know that I lost my late husband Cody in 2021 to a cardiac event at our home. For nearly a decade, Cody raised funds for the St. Baldrick's Foundation by growing out his hair and letting the highest bidder choose a crazy hairstyle for him before he would shave it off. Although he did not have cancer, he knew what it was like to be in and out of hospitals all the time as a child, having been born with a heart defect that required surgery at a young age.
He began shaving his head after college to support St. Baldrick's along with one of his best friends, Matty Barone, whose grandmother was battling cancer at the time. Since then, they have influenced others to brave the shave!
When Cody passed in 2021, I founded the Cody Thompson Memorial Hero Fund to continue raising funds for critically important childhood cancer research. All kids deserve more years. I hope that you will help me raise money by sponsoring my miles! That's right-- I'm running several races beginning on February 15 through Cody's birthday on December 20. Make a donation today to keep me motivated and moving!
Can you think of anything more important than saving the life of a child?
In its 25th year of raising funds, St. Baldrick’s supports the best research across the U.S. and beyond.
Did you know that every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer somewhere in the world? And in the U.S., 1 in 5 will not survive. These kids need our help.Thank you for helping me reach my goal and joining the effort to Conquer Kids’ Cancer!
