In Loving Memory of Edward / Donation Year:

We're helping to raise money for childhood cancer research at: Headshaving for a Cause

As we pass the first anniversary of our sweet Edward joining the angels around us (6 July 2002 - 16 January 2024), I will stay true to my promise to him as he lay dying and the many months before, “I will never stop fighting this disease.” I don’t want another mother feeling the pain of watching her baby take his/her last breath because of osteosarcoma, or watching his sister (or brother) feel the ache of losing the one person who knew him/her the best, or watching grandparents try to understand how their grandchild has left this life before them. I believe we have little control over life and death generally, and I believe that we are given gifts that help guide us through the challenges of life and death, but none of this makes navigating life and enduring death easy.

In my effort to never give up on fighting this disease that took my son’s life far too early, I am re-sharing his fundraising page. The funds that are donated through Edward’s page on St. Baldrick’s goes directly to fund osteosarcoma research. More information can be found on this St. Baldrick’s blog:

https://blog.stbaldricks.org/celebrating-a-partnership-for-progress-in-osteosarcoma/

Every little bit helps and no donation is too small. If you are unable to give now, we are equally grateful for your prayers, positive energy and thoughts!

We are forever grateful for the love and support that surrounds us. It keeps us positive and reminds us of the good that exists in the world, even among so much that seems bad!

I have no good words for the pain that I feel, but I must continue to use my words to fight this disease!

XO Avril
