On January 20, 2015, our daughter, Sophia joined the 175,000 kids that will be diagnosed with cancer this year. And in the U.S., one in five will not survive. I am willing to do whatever it takes to change that, so I'm raising money to find cures.
On March 28, 2015, in accordance with your votes by dollars, I chopped off over 1 foot of my long, thick locks and donated it to be made into wigs for kids in need.
But our work here is not done! I pledged at the event, in honor of my friend, Donna Hornik, that we would raise $175,000 - $1 for every child who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Wouldn't that be AWESOME? And YOU can make it happen!
Our event on March 28 raised a historic $109,000. Please help us reach our stretch goal by year's end by pledging your support to Research, funded by the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to Sophia and thousands of infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support my daughter and all these beautiful kids.
