Event Details

We hope you'll join us as we honor the families of our men and women in uniform affected by childhood cancer and BRAVE THE SHAVE to help cure childhood cancer!   Whether you shave your head, volunteer, or donate we want you to be a part of the excitement.   At the heart of our event are the friends, families, doctors, nurses, survivors, and supporters who come out every year to make our event unlike any other.  It's going to be an exciting and inspiring day that won't be forgotten.  The "main shave," with plenty to entertain the kids, will be from 10-2 at Roger Brown's in Portsmouth.  Later in the day from 4-6 the "Big. Bold. Bald" team will be braving the shave at Big Ugly Brewing in Chesapeake, their 2nd year shaving for heroes.  And if you really want to start the day off right, CrossFit Krypton is hosting a charity WOD starting at 9, also in Chesapeake.  So, there are plenty of ways to help Cure Childhood Cancers and support our military families, whether it's donating, shaving, volunteering, or sweating your butt off!   The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.  Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers!

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
