Thank you to the Detroit Tigers For the last two years, more than 500 heroes have headed into the Village of Romeo, raising the bar to over $320k a year, pushing us into the top 10 events worldwide, out of more than 1300.  Shout out to Ken Bourgess for getting it together!

Every 3 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer, this is something no parent should have to hear. The very least we can do is to build hope through funding new childhood specific cancer research. Each year brings new treatments, new cures and a chance for more children to conquer cancer. Shockingly, the vast majority of cancer research does not focus on childhood cancers, because it is simply not profitable. Again, shocking that this is a determining factor why less than 4% of federal funding is focused on childhood specific research to offset that. That is where we come in. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is entirely focused on funding new childhood specific research, providing more than $152 million in grants since 2005.

We are now the largest source of funds outside of the federal government. Our event is entirely volunteer driven and every dollar of your donation goes right to the foundation to fund grants. But it does take an army of volunteers to pull this off and We Need You!

Join the fight against kids cancer, this is a war we can not afford to lose. Your part in the fight could be as simple as shaving your head in solidarity with kids who lose their hair during cancer treatment. Or pulling out your credit card right now and making a donation. Make a statement that we will not stand by and let our children suffer. Every child deserves to live along and healthy life, and you can make that happen.

Be the hero. Regards, Michael Fiscus VEO, Village of Romeo Event.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
