The
Children’s Minnesota head shaving event to support St. Baldrick’s is back with
a little twist! We’re moving from a one-day, in-person event to a month-long virtual
experience. You’re invited to shave, donate, and
fundraise to support childhood cancer research. On Thursday, March 25, we will gather virtually to celebrate our
shavees and honored kids and families. The annual tradition and the opportunity to be
a hero for kids with cancer continues, albeit with a few modifications this
year.
Here’s how it works:
· Register
today: Sign up to shave and/or fundraise.
· Start
fundraising: Your friends and family want to know why you’re
shaving your head – tell them, in your own words, what it means to you to be
helping kids with cancer.
· Shave:
What will be
your strategy for shaving at home- will you dye your hair first or start with a
stripe down the center?
o
If you prefer to leave shaving to the
professionals, Sport Clips Haircuts is
offering free head shaving for event participants at participating locations.
Just show them your St. Baldrick’s shavee registration or page.
· Submit
photos by March 15: We would love to celebrate your bravery and
commitment during our virtual event. Shavees can submit before and after photos
using this link: https://www.dropbox.com/request/ymPVv4DDki0IE4BoERnn.
o
If you’d like, send us a short video
telling us why you shave and why you love Children’s Minnesota. It is
recommended that videos are less than one minute long and are filmed
horizontally.
o
Please note that any photos/videos
shared after March 15 may not be included in our live virtual event
celebration.
· Check
your mail: Every participant who raises $50 or more will
receive a t-shirt and lapel pin. Each individual participant must be registered
online to receive these items. T-shirts will come directly from the St.
Baldrick’s Foundation so please make sure to update your preferred shipping
information on your St. Baldrick’s profile. Kids do not need to raise $50 to
qualify for a t-shirt but they will need to be registered.
· Tune
in! Join The Dude and other Children’s Minnesota
friends for a virtual celebration event on Thursday,
March 25th at 7 p.m. on the Star Studio Facebook page. Not on
social media? The event will also be streaming live on Vimeo: http://starstudiomn.org/stbaldrickslive/

So much
has changed since we were last together but our commitment to kids with cancer
remains the same. Thank
you for your continued support of childhood cancer research!
