Event Details

Welcome to the 2011 St Baldrick’s Event at Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland!!! We are proud to announce that once again Children’s Hospital and Keaton Raphael Memorial (KRM) are teaming up to host our 4th annual St Baldrick’s Event - the biggest in the Bay Area!!! Last year with the amazing support of people like yourself, we raised over $168,000 to help fight in the battle against childhood cancer. We’re hoping to repeat this amazing success this year and to do it, we are going to need all the help we can get! Each year, 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. To put it simply, 1 in every 5 children diagnosed with cancer will not survive and this is unacceptable! Please join us on Saturday Mar 19th from 11am to 4pm and help us once again show the nation the Bay Area stands united in the fight against this horrific disease. There are many, many ways you can help! Join our event as a shavee or join/form a team of shavee‘s and let your family, friends and co-workers know you are shaving your hair for children with cancer and ask if they’ll donate to your cause! Volunteers and licensed barbers are needed and all are welcome to come cheer us on! Children and families affected by childhood cancer are invited/encouraged to share their stories as an honored kid and we dearly hope you will join us on this amazing and rewarding day. Please email us directly at CHO.STBALDRICKS@GMAIL.COM to let us know how you would like to get involved. Here’s to a Bigger, Badder, and BALDER 2011, we hope to see you there! Sincerely Heidi Gatty and Crystal Gariano St Baldrick's VEO's and Godmother and Mother to Ariel Rose, notorious cancer survivor!

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
