Thanks to all of you, shavees, volunteers and supporters, who made our first St. Baldrick’s event at McFadden’s such a success! What an incredible turnout to benefit childhood cancer research! Many thanks to our honored kids and families that were in attendance, with special mention to Amey, Leah, Derek’s girlfriend - Bre, and Taylor’s sisters - Robin and Skylar. Their help was invaluable with yielding the clippers, knighting our Knights of the Bald Table and drawing auction tickets, not to mention and consuming the multitude of lollipops located in the bathrooms!!! We also would like to extend our appreciation to our guest speakers Dr. John Maris (Chief of Onocology - CHOP), Amy Bucher (mother of Arden), Liz Jackson (Director of Grants – St. Baldrick’s), and our celebrity barber, Kharisma McIlwaine, (On-Air Talent - CBS 3/The CW Philly 57). Last but not least, kudos to Jason Matthew Salon for providing 92 of you with great looking new hairdos! It was especially great to see so many kids participating this year! Amy’s Allies participated with us for their fourth year, and had their team grow to 10 shavees, including our youngest shavee at 6 years old! Wissakickon Lacrosse had an unbelievable first time showing with a whopping 24 shavees! We look forward to seeing you all again next year!!!
