Event Details

Our photographer Chris Herder has posted beautiful photos of our wonderful event yesterday. Hero Celebration Photos by Chris Herder Photography. Our Children are our Heroes, they should not have to fight cancer alone. Thank you for participating in our Head Shaving... Every penny you raise will be given to St. Baldrick's to find a cure and beat Childhood Cancer once and for all. Event activities include: • Kids from local hospitals will be attending • The kids will be shaving the heads of local police officers, firefighters, and other shavees • Central Park Police will be picking kids up and taking them over to the event • Caitlin Martin, one of the Candlelighters’ NYC kids, fighting the beast that is childhood cancer, leukemia, will be performing with her dance troupe • Sofia Castillo, childhood cancer survivor, lost her leg to osteosarcoma, will be singing “The Climb” along with her sister and other kids in honor of their friend who passed away • There will also be “A Parade of Heroes” in memory of Alexa Aigner who passed away two years ago from neuroblastoma. The kids will be wearing capes, masks, swords and shields, provided by Alexa’s mother, as they march in honor of Alexa • The kids will also use their swords to Knight Bob Andersen for participating with St. Baldrick’s for seven years • Jessica Abo from New York One will be the moderator for the event • There will be free dinner provided and a silent auction

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
