Event Details

Welcome to The Lakes Area St. Baldrick's Event! ***we are in need of volunteers*** • to help spread the word prior to the event • to help in day of event activities • to solicit donations for a silent auction The folks at Uptown Grille are generously hosting this head-shaving event. They are excited. They are ready for lots of shavees. They want to beat last year's numbers. And we are grateful. To Uptown for hosting the event. For all those willing to volunteer and help out. And to all the shavees willing to give up their locks. Uptown will be open from early morning into the night celebrating St. Patrick's Day. So, whether you arrive to the event early or decide to stay late, Uptown will have food and drink specials and live entertainment. After losing our 2 year old daughter to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 8 years ago, we became supporters of The St. Baldrick's Foundation by shaving our heads, organizing events and speaking around the state in the fight against childhood cancer. Through the generous donations of time and money and hair, nearly half a million dollars have been raised in Michigan over the past decade. Last year, one of the roughest years for Michigan's economy, we raised more money than any other year! This is so wonderful. And we are so grateful. However, more is needed. Why? Because children are still fighting for their lives. Thousands die every year. And I think you will agree with me when I say one more child dying is too many. Please join us to help make a difference for children battling cancer and for their families who support them. Sign up to become a shavee. Recruit someone to become a shavee. Attend an event to cheer on those brave enough to go bald. Call to find out how you can help in organizing this event. Donate what you can. We understand that the economy is tough right now. But cancer doesn't care about the state of the economy. And neither does a child fighting cancer. Pennies turn into dollars, and those dollars go directly to fund research. Every bit of support you can give counts, whether it is your hair, your time or a donation. Thank you so much for supporting this event and The St. Baldrick's Foundation. We hope to see you on March 17th. Sincerely, The MacBeth Family
