Since its inception in 2000, St. Baldrick's has raised more than $34 million and grown into the world's largest fundraising event for childhood cancer. Worldwide 160,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year and despite tremendous progress, cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada.
St. Baldrick's research grants help fill crucial funding gaps at medical institutions where children are treated for cancer, ensuring the finest care for every child. The St. Baldrick's Foundation has funded 13 research fellows, launching brilliant new careers in childhood cancer research. And grant funds have been distributed to over 230 institutions for laboratory research and to help make clinical trials available to more children than ever, giving those children treatment that offers the best chance for a cure. While battling cancer, children lose not only their hair but years of their childhood, and sometimes their lives. In comparison to their struggle, shaving my head is a small sacrifice, and the money raised will make a difference for children with cancer now and in the future.

We do this in honor of my friends Jameson and Emily MacBeth, who lost their 2-year-old daughter to cancer in 2002.

We also do this in honor our friends Anne and Loris Costa of Washington Twp, whose son Noah, age 6, is currently going through treatment for Neuroblastoma. Noah plays soccer in our AYSO program along with his two brothers.

Read our shavee and volunteer pages, then read some of the children's stories on the main site.
Here are some of the wonderful things to be had at the silent auction: - Set of 4 Tiger tickets - Radisson Hotel Detroit-Livonia One Night Bed & Breakfast for 2 - FIFA 2008 PS2 - 1 Week AYSO Camps Soccer Camp for Kids Certificate - 1 Week Challenger Soccer Camp for Kids Certificate - more to come (we need donations). -Oh, and a signed Yzerman jersey

Bill Grogan's Goat "UnPlugged" will kick off the After Shave Party at 4pm! http://www.billgrogansgoat.com/

Thank you,
Michael Fiscus

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
