AAAAND We're Back!

It's been 4 years since our last event. Of course, COVID happened, but really so much more. We lost our dear friend and Brave the Shave inspiration John Varney in 2020. Dr Huang put the money You raised in the largest research grant of its kind to advance three different clinical trial candidates, with two clinical trials in progress and a canine trial in the works for the third. (See the research grant Impact Report below for more detail). Our event inspired a wonderful group of families in California from Battle Osteosarcoma to fund another game-changing research grant out of UCSF. (See their moving story in the video below, as well as the Impact Report for their UCSF grant). Last but not least, Olivia Egge, the inspiration for our first event and then with John Varney for the rest that resulted in the first $1.5 million research grant, reached the milestone of 5 years cancer-free and is graduating from college this spring and looking forward to pursuing a career in medicine.  Neither she, nor her family, will ever forget the outpouring of love and support from this extraordinary community.

The research grant YOU funded drew more researchers to Osteosarcoma and fueled new efforts and hope in this space.  We created great momentum in new science; however, Osteosarcoma continues to cut short and devastate lives, in particular among teens and young adults.  And so we are back, virtually,  to share the progress we made and take that progress to the End Zone -- with clinical trials for life-saving treatments that will forever end deadly outcomes.  This time we are partnering with our friends, April and Michael Egge, Battle Osteosarcoma, the Osteosarcoma Collaborative, CureSearch, and the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund at Children's Cancer Research Fund to fund another $1.5 million, a three-year research grant awarded through a scientifically-driven competition, just as the others YOU have funded, to further advance progress and close in on a cure. Osteosarcoma predominantly impacts children and that makes this effort so critical.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
