As a Firefighter, I take the brotherhood/sisterhood/family seriously. When I heard that one of our own was going the treatment I felt a need to help....more than normal. I invited him to be our honored child this year. His name is Cyrus DiNunzio. Here is a little about Cyrus: In April of 2022, Cyrus began experiencing severe leg pain. After several doctors, and multiple hours spent in urgent care and ER rooms, our sweet boy was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He was only three years old when he was diagnosed, and robbed of so much. Since his diagnosis, he has endured numerous lumbar punctures and bone marrow biopsies, rounds upon rounds of chemotherapy infusions, and several longterm hospital admissions. Through it all, he has shown a level of courage that no three year old should have to exhibit.
Cyrus is more than his diagnosis, and because of all the work done in pediatric cancer research, we will be able to watch him grow up and become the hero we already see in him. He is a little brother to two big sisters, Coral and Chloe, and a big brother (by one minute) to his twin sister, Charlie. He loves firetrucks, the color orange, camping, playing outside, and all the stuffed animals he can fit in his room - but his Bunky Bear has the prized spot next to his pillow. He is curious and quirky, and he makes everyone laugh with his silliness. And when he grows up, he wants to be a fireman, just like his Daddy.
There you have it folks....proof that this does make a difference. I hope to have a good showing at our event.

Children, teens and even infants are diagnosed with cancer every day, but donations are drastically down for research to find cures. We can change that – and save lives!
Our event will speed the search for cures, supporting the largest charitable funder of childhood cancer research grants. Research is hope, and you can give kids that hope.
