I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Katherine

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Katherine

In March 2013 my father proudly shaved his head as a Saint Baldrick’s participant, he was looking forward to making the event a yearly tradition.  Sadly he passed away on July 31st, 2013.  On that day, not knowing too much about Saint Baldrick’s, I promised that I would take his place as a shavee in 2014.  The thought of being bald terrified me but after participating and hearing the stories from the families whose children battled with cancer, I realized that if the donations which I raise by being bald for a short time could help even one child/family it was such a small sacrifice! What my father had planned to make his yearly tradition, I have claimed as my yearly tradition.

I am proudly shaving my head for the 5th year in a row to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

I shave for my Dad who shines down on me and for all the brave Children & Adults who don’t have a choice.
