I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: House of Dent

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: House of Dent

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research. Because 14,583 kids will be diagnosed with cancer this month alone. Because hair grows back; children do not. Because 1 in 5 kids don't survive. Because globally, every 2 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer. Because cancer isn't choosy and it doesn't care if you have a baby or a tween. It doesn't care how healthy of a lifestyle you lead, or what you've got going on in your personal life. It's rude, tactless, and comes when it pleases. Because if you can't stand up for children, what CAN you stand for? Because no one should battle alone. Because it's terrible to watch a loved one be torn apart because her babe has cancer. Because cancer doesn't just affect one. It affects an entire family. Because I don't know what else to do to help. But I CAN do this. I CAN help raise money and shave my head, because it's just hair, and it'll come back to me. I CAN stand in solidarity with kids that didn't ask for any of this but bear it nonetheless with more bravery than most adults. I don't need my hair, but these kids sure do need funding. Somethings gotta give. Childhood cancers are different from adult cancers, and the research is extremely underfunded. Let's fix that together. My family and I made a decision together to step up and stand up for these babies. They need help. And now I need your help. Every last dollar counts. Ever cent makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. No, it hasn't affected me personally, but I don't need it to. I sure ain't waitin for it to show up on our doorstep and kick in. This is something to get ahead of and get behind now. We want a cure, and we want it now. Make a difference. You've got a buck. Why not lay it towards something better than a PSL or a scratcher. Like I said, cancer isn't picky. It's not racist or sexist. It doesn't care about your age or your plans or life goals. If it knocks on your door, surely you'd want all the support you could get. Don't wait. Do something now. Be a hero, and make a difference with a buck or more. Whatever you've got. Help us help these kids. God bless you all. And if you have a moment, if you could take a knee and say a prayer or put out good vibes for a precious lil man named Dylan. He sure could use it, as well as his family. He's fighting a war few of us know about. I'm in his corner. Won't you be?
